The retreat consists of the following ceremonies:

Ceremonies are performed by Qeros priests, Shipibos and/or Andean and Amazonian natives Shamans

• Andean medicinal water (Physical and psychological preparation before taking ayahuasca)
• Oracle or Coca Leaf Reading (diagnosis and counseling)
• Cleansing ceremony (spiritual purification works with Forgiveness)
• One ceremonies with Ayahuasca
• Ceremonial Offering of gratitude to Mother Earth  or Pacha Mama (in Quechua)
• Consultations with 2 or 3 Andean and Amazonian Shamans

Important:

Note that for the physical and psychological preparation, the purgative natural water is needed to consume one day before to start the retreat, this takes around 3 hours.

Itinerary

At 8:00am we will pick you up from your hotel to transfer directly for approximately an hour and a half to the Sacred Valley to our retreat house located in the community of Yanahuara. Upon arrival we will quickly settle in before beginning the first ceremony, the coca leaf reading which lasts between 45 minutes and an hour depending on the number of questions that you have. The next ceremony will be the Andean cleansing and flourishing ceremony which is important to remove negative energies and blocks before the ayahuasca ceremony. This ceremony lasts approximately an hour. The ayahuasca ceremony will begin shortly after as the master seeks the permission of the Plant, Mother Earth and the higher forces so that the ceremony goes well and is in harmony with nature. The ceremony lasts between 4 to 6 hours. When the effects of the ayahuasca have worn off we will begin the last ceremony, a traditional Andean offering to Mother Earth which allows you to give thanks to the Mother Earth, the Apus and the plants for all that has been received. You are also able to ask for your well-being and for that of your loved ones creating a sense of harmony and union with nature and God. Our retreat will finish with an integration conversation where you are able to speak with the shaman about your experience and receive their explanation and guidance based on what the ayahuasca has shown you both. You will return to Cusco between 6:00pm and 7:30pm. Medicinal WatersWe ask that you arrive at least a day before your retreat so that this day you are able to detoxify your system with medicinal waters from a volcanic spring. This process removes all toxins from your system and its effects last up to 6 months. By completing this therapy your body will be physically prepared for your ayahuasca ceremony and will reduce the chance of ayahuasca interacting with any medication, alcohol, drugs or supplements that you may have in your system.

Indications

Do not consume drugs, alcohol, coffee or chocolate for two days prior to your Ayahuasca ceremony. Avoid canned food, red meat and pork, cold cuts and excessive salt and sugar. You should not be taking any medical prescription drugs, antibiotics, injections, pills, or others at the time of the ceremony (two days prior) and sexual abstinence including masturbation for one day prior the ceremony. We indicate that the women who are menstruating or pregnant abstain from participating. During your stay with Etnika’s we remind you that it is not permitted to smoke, drink alcohol or to take any type of prescription or non-prescription drugs without consulting us. We would like to remind you to take the following with you for each excursion:

• Sun block and water
• Raincoat or poncho
• Hiking boots or shoes
• Optional: sun glasses, camera, backpack.
